With the core objectives of bringing the joy of discovering the jungle to their members and spreading basic skills of jungle survival, Youth Leadership Association (YLA) held a jungle survival camp on 1 & 2 December 2018.
To prevent the environment from potential damages and ensure safety of all the members, the experienced troop leader Mr. Fami gave necessary briefings before the journey. Then after a 1.5-hour ride to Kingfisher Adventures Hulu Langat, members were pleased to discover the little campsite in a not-so-secluded area.
During the well-arranged 2-day event, participants were involved in activities requiring both independence and teamwork such as station games, self-cooking session and tents building, which play an important role in cultivating young minds and create future leaders. Many also enjoyed the surprise of unearthing unfamiliar organisms living in the jungle like leeches and rare bugs.
The togetherness, the melody of “Waving Flag”, “Light Chaser”, “Waka-Waka” and the choreography went along with these songs, plus the activity of “unboxing” anonymous letters made this camp a special and meaningful event for participants.
